CONTENTS OF QUALITY INSPECTION OF DINH VANG WAREHOUSE IN HAI PHONG CITY, VIETNAM

1. Survey of the Existing Condition of the Warehouse Buildings

a) Warehouse No. 1:
Total floor area: 566.5 m².

  • It consists of Zone 1, with gridline dimensions of 11.7 m × 32.4 m and a total building height of 5.3 m, and Zone 2, with gridline dimensions of 13.4 m × 9.9 m and a total building height of 3.7 m.
  • Main structural system:

    • The structure is composed of a steel frame system with columns and beams made of built-up steel sections, covered with corrugated metal roofing. The floor is finished with ceramic tiles.
    • Typical column section: D90 steel columns painted blue; steel trusses made of L50×50 angle steel painted blue, with welded connections.
  • The roof height of the warehouse is lower than that of the two adjacent factory buildings; therefore, it is not significantly affected by wind live loads.

b) Warehouse No. 2:
Total floor area: 66 m².

  • Total building height: 4.7 m.
  • Main structural system:
    • The structure consists of a steel frame system with columns and beams made of built-up steel sections, covered with corrugated metal roofing. The floor slab is cast-in-place concrete.
    • Typical column section: D90 steel columns painted blue; steel trusses made of L50×50 angle steel painted red, with welded connections.
  • The roof height of the warehouse is lower than that of the adjacent factory building; therefore, it is not affected by wind live loads.

2. Purpose of the Warehouse Survey and Structural Inspection

The purpose of the survey and inspection work is to record defects, damages, and deviations occurring in structural members, to measure the actual geometric parameters of the building structures and their components, and to determine the conformity or nonconformity of these parameters with applicable requirements.
The results are analyzed and evaluated to determine the level of structural safety and potential risk of the warehouse buildings.

The scope of the warehouse inspection includes:

No.

3. Results of the Warehouse Structural Inspection

a) Warehouse No. 1 – Zone 1:

  • Factory floor:
Satisfactory, as no significant settlement or deflection has been observed.

  • Steel columns:
Satisfactory, as the deviation between the column top and base is within the allowable tolerance of 10 mm.

  • Roof sheeting, steel trusses, and roof purlins:
The steel trusses are satisfactory after stability assessment through roof deflection measurements using a leveling instrument; the purlins are satisfactory after stability assessment through deflection measurements using a laser measuring device.

b) Warehouse No. 1 – Zone 2: (the content corresponds to your “Nhà kho số 1 – Khu 2”; if you want numbering adjusted, I can standardize it)

  • Factory floor:
Satisfactory, as no significant settlement or deflection has been observed.

  • Steel columns:
Unsatisfactory, as the deviation between the column top and base exceeds the allowable tolerance of 10 mm.

  • Roof sheeting, steel trusses, and roof purlins:
The roof is covered with color-coated galvanized steel sheets.
The steel trusses are satisfactory after stability assessment through roof deflection measurements using a leveling instrument.
The roof purlins show corrosion, which has spread to the roof sheeting due to long-term environmental exposure.

➔ This warehouse requires maintenance and repair, including treatment of corroded areas and structural strengthening of severely inclined columns.

c) Warehouse No. 2:

  • Factory floor:
The existing internal factory roadway is utilized.

  • Steel reinforcement / steel columns:
Satisfactory, as the deviation between the column top and base is within the allowable tolerance of 10 mm.

  • Roof sheeting, steel trusses, and roof purlins:
The roof is covered with color-coated metal sheets with enclosure panels.
The steel trusses are satisfactory after stability assessment through roof deflection measurements using a leveling instrument.
The purlins are satisfactory after stability assessment through roof deflection measurements using a laser distance measuring device.

d) Conclusion:

  • The warehouse buildings are safe for normal use and require only minor repairs. Periodic inspection and monitoring are recommended.
